More Frequently Than Halley's Comet
A Re-Orientation of My Internet Presence
Tuesday, November 18, 2025 11:45 am
People do not visit blogs. But I have decided that insofar as I appear on the internet at all, it will be here alone.

I have disavowed Twitter. I haven't been there in a couple of weeks. You will not be surprised to learn that this has done wonders for my peace of mind. I literally have no idea what's going on in the world. Moreover, I have fallen off the engagement merry-go-round, which, frankly, I had been dangling from for a while.

I will maintain my Twitter account but will use it only for announcements (as of posts on this blog or publications of my work). I will swoop in, announce, and swoop out, before the bedlam can spoil me. This, of course, is precisely what we are told not to do with social media accounts. "Create a persona" they cry. Well, been there, done that. Time for the retro calm of a blog.

There will be a few posts soon, mostly about my current writing, and then we'll see how often this comet returns.

P.S. Yeah, I don't want to do Substack or anything either. I really just want to back off without disappearing.
